My Son Returns

On Jan. 11th, 2012 My Son Samuel came home from a 2 year mission.  We were all so excited to see him.  One of his old companions from his CA mission asked us if he could come up from NC and stay with us to see him return.  It was the best thing ever.  It helped Sam out so much and they were able to talk about their mission and their companions while we all listened.  It truly helped Sam slide back into his family surroundings.
This is Ida, Charli, Elder English, His wife, Lauren, and Me.
Charli is like one of the kids.  She has known Sam and Kristen for what seems like a life time.
We are all waiting for Sam to arrive...So exciting!!

Elder English thought it would be fun to hide his face from Sam.  He didn't know he was going to be at the Airport when he got there.  It was so great.

We were so excited waiting for him.  We had no idea what he would look like or act like.  We were all a bit nervouse.

I was so happy to see him.  He is so grown up!!  I didn't expect to tear up but that is just what I did.  Then he noticed the strange people behind me.

Elder English!!!

It was nice to see a friendly face from CA.  Elder English now lives in NC with his new wife.

Dad was here as well.  He was behind the camera.  I love how awkward Sam was around Charli.  Ahhhh she is a girl.  lol.
We took Charli to her Sisters in Alexandria and then we all drove home.  It was great to hear Sam and Elder English reminise.  I am not sure I would have gotten to hear all the funny stories if his old companion wasn't there.
The next day we took the English's to old town and just walked around and talked until they had to travel back home.  What a great time!

This was the third day Sam was home.  He is getting use to us and us to him.  We are sure glad he is back home.  We have missed him tons, but knew he was doing very important work.
